Belly Fat Diet

It sounds simple to say it, but if you want to lose the belly fat, you have to have the right diet. Foods that are low in fat and low in carbs in more moderate portions are essential to the dieting process. These simple rules may not be easy to follow, however, so here are a few ideas to help your diet for abdominal fat get off the ground.

The only way your body can get rid of any kind of fat, without surgery of course is by burning it off in the form of energy. Fat is, after all, stored energy. In order to reduce the amount of fat in your body, you must burn it off faster than you put it in, hence, you must have a diet that is low in fat. It is not easy in today’s world of convenience foods and drive-thru windows to find food for building 6-pack abs. The first thing you’ll have to do is replace your pantry’s stock with low fat or non-fat equivalents of what is already there. A second thing you can do is to add more seafood in your diet. Fish is naturally low in fat, often with less than one gram of fat per four ounce serving. Another thing you can do to reduce the fat in your diet is to change the way you cook. Fried foods contain astronomically high amounts of fat compared to baked foods. Baking is actually easier, since you don’t have to stand over it, and it opens up a whole new world of possibilities as far as flavor experimentations go.

A low fat diet is a good thing, but a low carb diet in conjunction with it will get you there faster. Carbohydrates are nothing but long strings of sugars. Sugar gives you energy, but if you don’t use that energy, your body stores it as fat. The thing that makes carbohydrates so much worse than simple sugar is that it takes your body longer to break them down into sugars, which means you don’t always burn the energy off before it is available. Once the energy from the carbohydrates is available, you’re already sedentary and not using it. A low-carb diet is a far cry from a no-carb diet. Energy is required for basic functions, so cutting it out entirely is not advisable. Try mixing a few grams of carbs with a few grams of protein in your diet, and let them work together.

These simple rules, if followed, will greatly aid your quest for reduced belly fat. Just remember that food is fuel, but you can have too much fuel. Take it easy and eat in moderation. Pay attention to serving sizes and watch what is in your food. You can and will find success.
